CHEF DEAN MAX

 

Chef Dean James Max is the chef owner of DJM Restaurants which specializes in farm to table food and beverage concepts.  Chef Max has been in the food industry all his life where he started on his families small produce farm learning to grow vegetables at a young age, then getting his degree in business marketing, and after studying in Florence, Italy to return to a culinary internship with Ritz Carlton.  Over the last 30 years, he has opened dozens of restaurants concepts and won all kinds of culinary awards from James Beard best chef nominations, to King of American Seafood, and wrote two cookbooks in the down time.  Chef Max has produced an entourage of culinary masters who came up under him and lives proud in his legacy of culinary development of F&W Magazine Best chef winners, Top chef finalists, Hells Kitchen finalists, and successful restaurant leaders.

CHEF JOSÉ MENDÍN

 

José Mendín, a five-time James Beard Award semifinalist for “Best Chef, Southeast” moved from his native Puerto Rico to Miami in 1998 to enroll at Johnson & Wales University, from which he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Culinary Arts. Mendín went on to help open Nobu Miami that same year and Nobu London in 2002, with chefs Mark Edwards and Thomas Buckley respectively.

CHEF PAULA DASILVA

 

Paula DaSilva is the Executive Chef at the Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale and a former contestant season five of the Fox show Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay. DaSilva was invited to be a guest chef at the James Beard House in New York City, where she shared her innovative dishes with the sophisticated palates of their members and guests, and she is a seven-time participant in the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival in Orlando, Florida.

CHEF NICOLE RHONE

 

Nicole Rhone is the Executive Chef at Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Her outstanding skill set and personality have received several prestigious honors and awards. Chef Nicole’s favorite thing to cook is fresh seafood; primarily fish, and loves to source locally. She has a love for the simplicity of food, taking advantage of the natural flavors that it possesses.

The self-proclaimed “Godfather of Italian-American cooking” Steve Martorano, the owner/founder of Café Martorano, has become a worldwide sensation, expanding his restaurants into four locations, he’s launched a wine label, pasta sauces, apparel & jewelry line, and authored multiple books. The Martorano restaurants offer a unique atmosphere that combines exceptional food with extraordinary music and movies creating an ambiance that attracts clientele ranging from locals to the sexy, hip crowd to some of entertainment’s hottest celebrities. Martorano’s has even been featured on television shows such as The Real Housewives of Miami and Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best? and the Jimmy Kimmel show, just to name a few.

BELKYS NEREY

 

Born in Havana and raised in Long Island and Miami, Belkys is a natural who took every possible lesson, from piano to ballet to tap.  When she’s not anchoring for Miami’s WSVN-7 , Nerey is in the kitchen, hosting her popualar Bite With Belkys cooking segments and her Emmy nominated 30-minute Bite specials.

At the helm of Takato is Executive Chef Taek ‘Taka’ Lee. Highly admired for his world-class talent, he leads his hospitality team with an uncompromising commitment to quality and creativity. As one of South Florida’s most accomplished chefs with a career spanning more than 20 years at some of the nation’s leading restaurants, Chef Taka has helmed the kitchen as Executive Sushi Chef at Zuma and Makoto and Executive Chef at Monkitail inside The Diplomat Resort. A five-diamond culinary veteran, he is taking his love for the finest ingredients with his steadfast focus on the opening of Oku by Takato, a newly debuted, upscale omakase lounge connect to Takato.

Anna de Ferran (aka ADF) is an international DJ and co-founder of L’Amigas DJ Collective, who is making waves across the world. Anna is a half Brazilian and half English that currently resides between Miami and London. From playing corporate events to getting parties started on the beaches of Europe to raving in nightclubs– ADF does it all.  Anna now has over 19,000 people following her day to day journey. She is no stranger to the fast life. While her music style stays true to the spirit of house music she gives everything her own little twist.
